My name is Liz Matheny and I am a high school English teacher. I believe that public education is the greatest public service in the United States and am proud to have taught in Maryland's public school system for the last ten years.
I was raised on the historic Antietam Battlefield and often yearn for nature sounds and wide open spaces. I graduated with my B.A. in English Education from Salisbury University on Maryland's eastern shore and am currently enrolled in Hood College's Educational Leadership graduate program.
When I'm not at school or in class, I'm typically with my husband and our son visiting our favorite local bookstores, hiking through the woods, or reading a good book.
